Lindsay MacKenzie

Manager

Lindsay always wanted to be a teacher and music was the obvious choice, having already started to teach whilst in the final years of school.

It was during her undergraduate studies (Music and Anthropology) that she started to imagine an arts centre in her home village - and so the adventure began.

From the start, Lindsay envisaged Matrix as being an educational arts centre that was charitably run, and she succeeded in 1992 when the school gained charitable status.

Managing and teaching at Matrix Arts Centre continues to be a wonderfully rewarding way of life. The Yamaha Music School has become the school’s specialism and Lindsay values her work in supporting the Yamaha teachers and students, especially the creative aspects of the curriculum.
