OXUS presented a programme exploring the musical "intermezzo", including Caroline Shaw's beautiful and innovative Entr'acte, as well as music by Haydn, Schubert and the Danish String Quartet.
We had a full audience in the intimate setting of our hall, who were pleased to leave having been entertained, engaged and intrigued for an hour, with the performers sharing insights into each piece they performed in this diverse programme of musical interludes.

This concert included a selection of original songs as well as unique interpretations of folk songs from the British Isles - all with an African twist. Our musicians will take us through shifting atmospheres, ballads and toe-tappers. A rich programme of music by two very accomplished musicians with music spanning across two continents. Folklore - Sunday 31st March 2019
This well-recognised duet explores folk songs from different European countries, amazingly arranged as classical music compositions by four artists: Poulenc, Britten, Pizzetti and de Falla. The duet has recently launched their first CD, comprising pieces by Pizzetti.

Violin and Piano Duet Sunday 3 February 2019
Louisa Fuller (violin) and Charlotte Brennand (piano) studied both at the Royal Academy of Music. Winners of multiple awards and scholarships, they are now well-established musicians, having performed on prestigious stages like St.John's Smith Square in London and Jacqueline du Pre Building in Oxford. The duet will be playing famous Eighteen-century pieces, which can be considered as representative of Romanticism (Bridge, Clara Schumann and Brahms) and post-Romanticism (Elgar).

'Postcards from Italy' - Sunday 4 November 2019
Founded in Italy in 2006 by Simona Foglietta, Maria Antonietta Gramegna and Anna Rosaria Valanzuolo, the string trio has been performing in many stages in Italy and abroad. Their CD Chamber Jazz Trio contains music in jazz style composed by G. Iacoucci for the three musicians.
The Aura Trio will bring us to Italy through the exuberant Trio in A by Ricordi. Other suggestive images of their own country are projected through Aus Italien op.105 by Sternberg whereas Iacoucci’s Suitewill let us smell the colours of Neaples.

This is an interactive performance for children, with storytelling and audience participation. We will introduce you to the instruments of the Tudor period and perform music by Antony Holborne and Thomas Forde. You are invited to come suitably attired for life at sea as a Sea-Dog pirate, and be prepared to dance, sing and be merry!
Captain Digorie Piper was a real Tudor pirate. The “Sea-Dogs” were a group of privateers employed by Queen Elizabeth I to raid and pillage the Spanish fleet. The most important crew members on any pirate ship were, of course, the shanty men and musicians. Join our motley crew of Elizabethan pirates who will introduce you to their strange Tudor instruments, and invite to you sing, dance, gambol and shake the rhythms of our mighty music as we unfold the story of Captain Digorie Piper.

Born in Naples (Italy), Mariangela is recognised worldwide as an exceptionally gifted artist:
She was awarded Second Prize at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in 1999 at the age of 17; Finalist and Worldwide Audience Award at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition; 1st Prize Top of the World International Piano Competition 2009, Laureate Prize Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2007. She has performed at the Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Walt Disney Hall, Montpellier Festival, Weill Hall in NYC, and the Oriental Centre in Shanghai.

MARIANGELA MEETS THE STUDENTS
The internationally-knwon pianist Mariangela Vacatello will meet our students!
As a former Yamaha student, Mariangela will tell us about her early studies and her experience as a student in a Yamaha school first and in a Conservatoire afterwards. She will also talk about practice and passion, and how they can co-exist successfully. Mariangela will also perform and answer any questions coming from the young audience.
We have asked Mariangela to meet our students because we strongly believe that these kind of experiences are able to leave a mark in ourselves, regardless our age and attitude. A considerable number of well-regarded musicians can still recall the first proper concert they have attended in their youth, or the performer who truly motivated them to nurture their musicianship. We would like to consider this event as a great chance for all our student to meet a successful, professional pianist, to raise questions and see her in action from a very close distance. We know from our own experience that this can’t be taught through lessons. And if Mariangela would be the one who leaves on them their first mark, we would feel to have done our best to fulfil our educational mission.

Julian and Dan graduated in July 2016 at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Distinction .
In June 2017 they were awarded second place at the Guitar Foundation of America’s International Ensemble Competition (Los Angeles) and the 2016 Royal Academy of Music’s Club Prize. The duo have performed extensively around the UK, including at Wigmore Hall, St. James’ Piccadilly, St. John’s Smith Square, Courtauld Gallery, Kings Place (London Guitar Festival), The Sage (North-East Guitar Festival), Bath Guitar Festival, Shrewsbury Guitar Festival and Colston Hall (Bristol).

David Mears (clarinet) and Joseph Cummings (piano) have both recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music of London.
Their concert music ranges from the classic repertoire for clarinet and piano to some popular pieces for piano solo.
Colli&Rubini Duo (piano duet)

The Colli&Rubini Duo is a piano duet founded by Martina Colli and Rossella Rubini. Their large repertoire includes classical music as well as original transcriptions by Martina of pieces taken from jazz, famous symphonic works and even pop music.
