Junior Concert & Young Composers Concert Amey Theatre - June 2019

Lorraine Chapman writes:

"The Matrix Arts Centre Annual Junior Concert on 16th June 2019 was my first since joining the team in November 2018, and it was such an exhilarating experience, from 9am when I turned up to help the team set up and go through the rehearsals, to 5pm when we finally cleared the building.

The children were all amazing, they just got on with it, did their rehearsal, played their pieces brilliantly, and took a bow at the end before returning to their parents in the audience. The whole audience erupted with applause after each and every item, there was so much support and pride there for the children.

I stayed for the Junior Original Composition event afterwards, and boy did those students blow me away with their compositions! Each composition and performance was unique, detailed, rhythmically interesting and full of colour. It was a very emotional experience.

The Matrix Arts Centre team took me under its wing and was brilliant in helping me do my part with my four classes in the concert, and it was so lovely to go for a drink with them and wind down after such a great day."
